Ceramic Filters

Ceramic Filters are used in the Automotive and Aerospace Industry where precision castings are required.

Ceramic Filters

Your Best Choice for Bespoke Ceramic Filters.

For over twenty years we have been specialist producers of foams for Ceramic Filters. We have extensive knowledge of Reticulated Foams, their structure and their technical characteristics which is usually not measured by foam manufacturers. Therefore, it was a logical step for us to begin supplying to Ceramic Filter manufacturers.

Complementing our knowledge of foams is our expertise in converting them. As independent converters we are in a unique position of dealing with foam manufacturers worldwide and more importantly, their technical managers. We offer the optimal combination of foam material and the best way of converting them to optimize the materials filtering characteristics for example, horizontal or vertical cutting.

Ceramic Filter applications;

•    Automotive
•    Aerospace
•    Steel Casting

What materials do we use for Ceramic Filters?

Reticulated Polyurethane Foam: This foam is the standard foam for Ceramic Filters. The material is completely open celled which lends itself ideal for filtration, this is achieved by the thermal reticulation process whereby all membranes are melted into the cell rib.

Reticulated Polyurethane can also be produced to a very specific specialized range, enabling Ceramic Filters to be produced in a variety of thicknesses, pore sizes and composites to meet the needs of all metal casting processes.

The foam porosity is measured in PPI (Pores Per Inch) and can range from 7ppi to 100ppi. However, foam from around the world is measured and calibrated differently for example, an 8ppi by European standards is a 4ppi in Asia and a 3ppi in the USA. Therefore great care needs to be taken when enquiring about what quality you require.
